Icebreaker: If you could rename the Broncos to anything you wanted, what would you pick, and why?

 

Questions to Discuss: 

 

Why wasn’t God more careful to pick leaders who wouldn’t mess up so bad in the Bible? Sure, no one is perfect, but couldn’t he have at least avoided murderers and adulterers?

 

Now that we know what Christian leaders face that tempts them to fall (spiritual attack, keeping up appearances, a legal transaction mindset, and an unkept soul), are there ways those they lead can support them to help prevent them from falling?

 

If God really has given us everything we need to live a godly life (2 Peter 1:3-11), why does it feel like there are so few godly people, even among Christian leaders?

 

The Bible teaches us that God uses all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to his purpose (Rom. 8:28). If you feel comfortable, share about a time you felt a leader failed you (can omit their name). What do you think God wants you to gain from that experience?
