When Jesus and his disciples have their famous encounter with a group of young children in Matthew nineteen, the disciples try to prevent the children from bothering Jesus. Jesus quickly reprimands them and declares that the kingdom of heaven belongs to people like the children. You’ve probably heard the story before, but it’s one of the most powerful moments in Jesus’ ministry. Kids matter.

It’s important for kids and parents alike to have the chance to dig into the deeper things of God. That’s why Renovate offers one class for infants through pre-K, and another for elementary ages. When we serve GRUNCH, kids take a break from lessons and eat in their classrooms. The elementary class may join the congregation for worship as per the discretion of their teacher, and the younger kids remain in their classroom for the duration of service and groups.
