What's in a name?

The name Renovate was inspired by the book Renovation of the Heart written by Dallas Willard.  It is a powerful articulation of the concepts of spiritual formation and discipleship.  Renovate exists to do its part in fulfilling the Great Commission: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20) We are motivated by the Great Commandment: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:37-38)

Some of these concepts are reflected in the logo that represents Renovate Ministries.  Here is an explanation of the meaning built into the design.

The color blue represents a blueprint, and the font is intended to loosely mimic an architect’s mark usually found at the bottom of a blue print.

The R for Renovate is highlighted here in red.

The cross is the universal symbol of the Christian Church throughout the world.

Here an arrow becomes visible. This represents movement in the right direction as we follow Jesus.
